Atlantic Broadband has four primary operating regions in Florida, Maryland / Delaware, South Carolina and Central Pennsylvania. It was formed by acquiring nonstrategic regions from Charter Communications in 2004.

About 55% of Mediacom’s subscription base is in the 60th through 100th ranked television markets. It is the largest cable company in Iowa and second largest in Illinois.

From 2011 to 2013, the corporation also served approximately 300,000 customers in Colorado, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming under the Optimum West brand until it was sold to Charter Communications in 2013.
